Park Hill
Founded in 1882, Denver's quaint, sprawling Park Hill neighborhood is located just three miles from downtown. Originally developed as an Arabian horse track, and later a military barracks during the Spanish-American War, today, Park Hill is one of the city's most vibrant, stylistic, and historically diverse neighborhoods. Bordered by City Park to the west at Josephine, Quebec to the east, from Colfax to as far north as 52nd Avenue, Park Hill offers an ideal residential community.
Getting to know Park Hill
The Park Hill neighborhood is comprised of Queen Anne Victorians, English-style Tudors, Georgian Revivals, and an assortment of Denver Squares and Craftsman bungalows in varying sizes. Many homes have been updated to add modern conveniences while preserving the historic integrity of the structures and time periods. Tree-lined streets, meticulous greenery, and thoroughfares juxtapose exceptional and sturdy smaller homes with mansions. Duplexes also abound in this area.
The Park Hill area traverses Denver's City Park, one of the city's central gathering places. In addition to the Denver Zoo and the Museum of Nature and Science, the park includes a lake for boating and fishing, numerous trails, and fields equipped for everything from soccer to volleyball. Downtown Denver, just three miles to the west, offers easy access to shopping, cultural events, and restaurants.
